La Aroma de Cuba event/Preparations for the SC Sit Down no. 12

Friday night I attended the La Aroma de Cuba event at the Tobacco Merchant. On hand was Evan Carpenter of Ashton. The La Aroma de Cuba is an old brand that has been recently revamped by none other than Don Pepin Garcia. It's a dark, very bold and spicy cigar that I really like.

I picked up 1o cigars, 2 of each size, and got a few free ones for my purchase! Thanks Evan for a great event!

Now, as you know, this coming Saturday is the SC Sit Down 12. A lot of work goes into each event and this year the various companies have really stepped up to help make this event a success. I have been collecting cigars, humidors, shirts, hats, etc. since January and storing it all in my dining room. Well, this past Sunday was the day set aside to get the cigars that were designated for distribution divided up in 5 packs for the patrons as they enter the event. Below are pics of my dining room table as I began the process:

As you can see there are a LOT of cigars. And these are just the ones that are to be handed out. Below is a snapshot of the raffle prizes. The tuppidores are holding more cigars to be raffled off. The boxes you see are holding humidors, shirts, hats, and various other cigar related items that will also be in the raffle:

It is amazing how generous the cigar community is. Cigar manufacturers, distributors, internet companies, local shops, and even regular attending patrons donate items for the raffle. All money collected from the raffle goes to Sister Care, Inc. which is a shelter for battered women and their children. I just learned that a representative of Sister Care will be attending the event to speak on behalf of Sister Care. They are a great organization providing a valuable service for central South Carolina.
.
I hope to see you at this weekend's event. It starts at noon! Raffle drawings at 4pm!

This is a great event for those who smoke cigars. We can trace this all the way back in history, where a lot of people have been shown to smoke tobacco. Nowadays, this practice is still prevalent.
