Partagas 1845 Extra Oscuro Robusto Gordo (5 1/2 x 52)

Video review HERE.

(from the Partagas website)

Available exclusively via internet and catalog retailers, Partagas 1845 Extra Oscuro is meticulously crafted using an oily, sun-drenched, Oscuro wrapper, bound in an earthy Vega Especiale binder and blended with the perfect combination of full-flavored Dominican, Honduran, and Nicaraguan ligero long-filler tobaccos, Partagas 1845 Extra Oscuro is a fitting sequel to the acclaimed Partagas 1845. And not to mention, the most full-flavored introduction from Partagas since we rolled out first cigar 169 years ago.

This cigar is almost jet black and very dense. It has a nice feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was a tad firm. The initial flavors were coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, and graham cracker. The pepper is a black pepper rated at an 8. Those are your initial flavors.

About 3/4 inch in the flavors are just about like I initially described. The mix of the flavors remind you of sweet blackberries. It is that dark and sweet. The finish is a sweet cream with a large amount of lingering black pepper. It coats the back of your tongue and palate. The cigar is medium to full bodied at this point.

At the band with about 2 inches remaining the coffee notes are quite dominant. The other flavors are still there but you can't miss the coffee at this point. For a dark noted cigar it has a lot of sweetness which I happen to like!

With about 1 1/2 inch remaining the cigar is now full bodied. The cigar is burning nicely and as you can see from the time you get a lot of bang for your buck!

The cigar ended much like it was all along but there are some charred wood notes now and some of the sweetness has tapered off. This has been a nice full bodied cigar and a good addition to the Partagas lineup. The notes of coffee, chocolate, cocoa, and graham were very nice and the black pepper was fantastic! These are only available online or from catalog retailers. You can try these cigars on the Famous Smoke Shop website by going HERE. They are available in singles, 5 packs and boxes of 18 at a fantastic price!
