PLASENCIA CIGARS INTRODUCES NEW PACKAGING, MARKING A NEW CHAPTER FOR THE BRAND

Plasencia Cigars, a world-renowned premium tobacco grower and maker of award-winning cigars with a tobacco tradition dating back to 1865, introduces new packaging across its portfolio, marking the first full expression of the brand’s recently updated identity, including its new logo.

This moment represents a new chapter for Plasencia, one that brings its heritage, craftsmanship, and connection to the land into clearer focus through a more intentional and elevated presentation.

The updated packaging will debut at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show in New Orleans, where it will be featured across the company’s booth and product displays.

This evolution did not begin with packaging, but with a broader refinement of the Plasencia brand, an effort to align how the company presents itself with what it has always stood for. After nearly a decade with the same packaging, it was time for it to evolve alongside the brand identity, staying true to itself while paying homage to the cigars.

This is a refinement, not a reinvention. While the cigars remain unchanged, the presentation now reflects the same level of quality found within the box. At the heart of the evolved identity is a single tobacco leaf—organic, imperfect, and alive. Framed within a hexagon, one of nature’s most efficient forms. The mark is less a symbol and more a declaration that the future of premium cigars begins in the soil, shaped by time, skill, and stewardship long before it reaches the hands of the smoker.

“Our family has always believed that what we grow and what we pass down matters,” said Néstor Andrés Plasencia, Fifth Generation. “This evolution allows us to express more clearly who we are today, rooted in nature, guided by experience, and committed to creating the best cigar for the world.”

The new packaging introduces a unified design language across the portfolio, bringing greater consistency, clarity, and presence on the shelf. A defining element is the new interior “Vista” design, transforming the inside lid into a high-impact storytelling moment, reinforcing Plasencia’s heritage, philosophy, and deep connection to the land. The Alma Collection now carries a visual expression of its unique terroir of origin, reflecting the distinct character, flavor, and strength of each blend. Reserva Original, the only certified 100% organic cigar on the market, incorporates the sunflower, highlighting its protective role within the organic agricultural process.

In addition to its visual refinement, the new packaging reflects a continued commitment to sustainability, guided by a thoughtful approach to materials, structure, and purpose. Each element has been carefully considered to reduce excess while preserving the protection, integrity, and presentation expected of a premium cigar. The new boxes are tailored to each vitola, using less wood while optimizing space across shelves.

Reserva Original undergoes its most significant evolution, transitioning from 10-count to 14-count boxes and being introduced as a new product with a new UPC, while Alma Collection UPCs will remain unchanged.

The transition will take place gradually beginning this fall, with both existing and new packaging coexisting in the market. The Cosecha collection will remain unchanged in the near term, with a planned review in 2027.
