It's that time again. The year end review. The time when I reveal my Top 25 cigars of the year. This year I reviewed 128 cigars. Of those 122 were widely available and 6 were limited/shop exclusive releases. Of course, I review the newer releases. If it came out this year or late last year that's what I reviewed for the most part.
The highest score I gave was 96.67; the lowest was 80
I decide to put my top cigars into a play-off type system comparing high scores from earlier in the year to those later in the year. This way I could get a true number 1 as it would be compared to the other very good cigars smoked during the year. This would also mean that a highly rated cigar may not fall into a highly rated position after the comparisons were complete. All bets are off. It's every cigar battling to get the coveted spot.
The cut-off score for top cigars was 93.67 and above. There were 34 cigars in this category. From these I would gather my Top 25.
The cigars in each category fell like this:
93.67 + = 34 (eligible for top 25) (would buy again)
92.33-93.33 = 26 (probably buy again)
90-92 = 36 (may buy again)
>90 = 32 (would not buy again)
After a month of comparing the top cigars here is my list of the Top 25 cigars of 2021.
The cigar is listed with the size, date reviewed, and original score. No final score is assigned for the Top 25 as this is the order of best cigar with the other following in the order of desire. The cigar name is highlighted and when clicked takes you to the original review.
