Warfighter Field 7.62 Robusto (5 x 52)

Video review HERE.

(from the Warfighter website)
Warfighter Cigars are hand rolled in Nicaragua by the Plasencia factory and blended by the owners of Warfighter with the expert help of David Blanco. Warfighter Cigars use only premium long-filler tobacco. Our goal is to provide you a smoke that is reminiscent of your favorite caliber.

All of our cigars come in two versions: Garrison and Field. Every Warfighter has a duty uniform and a dress uniform. Each is essential, but they serve different purposes. For more formal situations, choose our Garrison line with the appropriate accoutrements. For the rugged stuff, the Field line with its durable and multi-purpose kit is the way to go.

The cigar has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was firm. I actually used my PerfecDraw tool after it was lit to open the draw. The initial flavors were large amounts of nutmeg, raw almond, and earthy black coffee. Hardly any sweetness at all. The pepper is a white pepper which I rated at a 6 to 6 1/2. The nutmeg is creamy but it has no sweetness to speak of. I am hopeful the cigar picks up steam and has more sweetness soon.

At the first third (21 minutes) there emerged some subtle sweetness in the form of a grapefruit citrus. Don't expect it to jump out at you but it's there. You still have the nutmeg and raw almonds along with the earthy black coffee. There seems to be a touch of brown sugar in the citrus also but it's quite subtle. The pepper seems to have elevated slightly up to a 7. The finish is nutmeg and raw almonds with a minor amount of lingering white pepper. The cigar is medium bodied at best. The cigar has very little sweetness. For the first third I rated it at an 83.

At the 2/3 point (43 minutes) all the flavors with the exception of the nutmeg are subtle. The citrus, almond, brown sugar, earthy coffee, and now a little dry cocoa are all quite subtle. The pepper remains decent. The finish is unchanged. This is just not a cigar that pops with massive sweet flavors. It's not hitting on all cylinders for me. For the second third I rated the cigar an 82.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 3 minutes. It stayed on the same course as previously. I actually like the flavors but they need to be in a much larger proportion with the exception of the nutmeg. They are so subtle it's hard to say much positive about the cigar. I'm sure the makers were going for these flavors when they made this cigar but they are not for me. If you find that you like this cigar please tell me why. The final third I rated at an 82.

Overall Score: 82
