The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were light citrus, toffee, nutmeg, leather, and black coffee. The black pepper is mixed throughout the flavors and rated at 8+. The cigar tastes like it will jump quickly to full bodied.
At the first third (37 minutes) the cigar is going through a rather large self correction. The wrapper is not burning evenly but it appears to be self correcting. This cigar is all about pepper and power. Now I had light toffee (no more citrus notes), light nutmeg, leather and black coffee with a ton of black pepper. The cigar is close to full bodied already. The cigar doesn't have a lot of flavor. It has nice pepper but pepper alone can't carry a cigar. I rated the first third 88.
Moving through the second third (1 hour 7 minutes) the burn got better and evened out for the most part. The black pepper continues to keep my attention. The toffee notes are almost gone. There is nutmeg, leather, and a lot of black coffee. The cigar is full bodied. The finish is nutmeg and leather with very good lingering black pepper. Not much in the way of sweet notes but plenty of pepper and dark notes. I rated the second third 85.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 31 minutes. Here in the final third all I had was leather and black coffee. If you stretch your mind you can get remnants of toffee. There continues to be a lot of black pepper. The cigar is full bodied. The finish has the slightest amount of toffee, nutmeg, and black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. This is a powerful, dark noted, peppery cigar. Don't expect much sweetness. I rated the final third 82.
