The cigar is a light brown and has an average feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were citrus, citrus peel, apricot, brown sugar, nutmeg, and leather. Initially this cigar seems quite a bit lighter than the Barbocoa. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Nice start.
At the first third (20 minutes) the notes have morphed into much more of the apricot and brown sugar, creamy nutmeg, and light leather. The finish is apricot and light leather with average lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied. I rated the first third 93.
Moving through the second third (39 minutes) the leather notes have come out a little more. I still had the apricot, brown sugar, and nutmeg. The finish is a lot of leather and light apricot with good lingering black pepper. The cigar is still medium bodied. The increased leather didn't hurt it too bad. I rated the second third 92.
The cigar lasted 1 hour. The leather notes dept rising. There are modest to light apricot notes, light brown sugar, increased nutmeg, and what seems to be black coffee at the very base to go along with the increased leather. The cigar is now medium to full bodied. The finish was nutmeg, hints of apricot, and leather with good lingering black pepper. The cigar took a turn. I rated the final third 89. Still, this is a pretty good cigar but I think the Barbocoa is much better.
