Black Label Trading Company is pleased to announce the shipment of Bishops Blend to select retailers. Bishops Blend is hand crafted in Esteli, Nicaragua at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
“We are very excited about this highly anticipated release. This is the eighth release of Bishops Blend and continues to be one of our most sought-after, limited annual releases. Bishops Blend boasts big bold flavors of anise, pepper, raisins, and a sweet earthiness on the finish. It is very complex and extremely refined. As with the past vintages, the broadleaf fillers shine at the forefront and are perfectly balanced by the Nicaraguan filler tobaccos,” said James Brown, creator of Black Label Trading Co. and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
BISHOPS BLEND will be available at select retailers.

The cigar is very dark and well made. The foot is closed. The cigar has an average feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was firm since I took about half the triangular cap so I used the PerfecDraw tool to open the draw. The initial flavors at light up were raisin, brown sugar, dark chocolate, and black coffee. The black coffee is very elevated. The raisin flavor is the second most prominent note. You get the raisin first but it's quickly engulfed by the black coffee. There is dark chocolate with the black coffee and there is brown sugar with the raisin. There's almost a black cherry note with the raisin and brown sugar. There was black pepper rated at 8. Pretty good start and quite dark but nice sweetness.
At the first third (23 minutes) there is a lot of black coffee. The raisin flavor is definitely secondary. This version is not as rich as previous years. The cigar is medium bodied but I'm feel sure it will move up. The finish is black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. I would like the raisin to be more pronounced. I rated the first third 94.
As I moved through the second third (45 minutes) the sweetness is definitely up. There's a lot of brown sugar. The dark chocolate is also up. The raisin is down. The cigar is very sweet and dark. The cigar is now full bodied. The finish is unchanged. The cigar is very good due to the sweetness of brown sugar. The raisin is light and the dark chocolate and black coffee are elevated but they work well with the brown sugar. I rated the second third 95.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 9 minutes. Now there is some decent brown sugar but the raisin is pretty much an afterthought except for some faint residue. But there is a lot of dark chocolate and black coffee. The cigar is full bodied. The finish is raisin and black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is not as good as it was in the second third. I rated the final third 93. I've had better Bishops Blends in the past and some that were not as good as this cigar. I enjoyed this cigar. It's dark noted with nice sweetness, mostly from brown sugar.
