The Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 6 is the latest installment of La Flor Dominicana’s Small Batch series. The Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch series was first introduced by La Flor Dominicana back in 2006. This was a limited release Dominican puro that used the concept of taking the best tobaccos from company owner Litto Gomez’s La Canela farm from a single crop year.

The Small Batch No. 6 incorporates a Dominican Pelo de Oro wrapper. This wrapper was introduced to the series with the Small Batch No. 4. All tobaccos are from a 2009 vintage and originate from the La Canela farm in the Dominican Republic.

The Litto Gomez Diez Small Batch No. 6 is available in one size – a 6 3/4 x 52. As in the past, the Small Batch No. 6 is packaged in 105 count crates.

This is an absolutely beautiful cigar. The wrapper is very oily and dark. The typical Litto Gomez band is ornate. It has a dense feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was very good. The initial flavors were a buttery cedar with brown sugar, black coffee and light leather. The pepper is a black pepper rated at a 7 at this early stage. The cigar is very smooth yet full bodied feeling already.

About one inch in there is a strawberry sweetness on the cedar now. The butter and brown sugar are still there and the leather and black coffee hold down the base and they are somewhat subdued. The pepper is about the same at this point. The finish is a sweet cream with some lingering black pepper. I had one of these earlier this week and the ligero was sneaky. It hits later in the cigar.

With about 4 inches remaining the strawberry notes are tangy. The still combine with the sweet cedar, butter and brown sugar. The leather and coffee still hold the base. The sweetness has elevated. The finish is now a toasted cream with nice lingering black pepper. This is a very smooth full bodied cigar. The flavors are full bodied but the strength is more of a medium to full bodied.

With about 3 inches remaining the buttery notes have increased. The other notes are unchanged.

As the cigar ended the brown sugar notes became elevated. The other flavors did not change. The percentages of flavors are the only thing that changed throughout this cigar. The pepper remained very good on both ends. It elevated to an 8 over the course of the cigar. The finish was unchanged. You start to feel the ligero effects in the final third.
