The cigar is almost jet black. Compare the color of the cigar to the band and they almost match. The cigar has an average feel in the hand for a robusto of this size.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were a tangy orange citrus, sweet dark chocolate, caramel and/or brown sugar, a small amount of nutmeg, and a lot of black coffee which could be an espresso. There was plenty of black pepper which I rated at 7 1/2 to 8. This cigar, at this point, is much better than the sungrown which I reviewed last weekend.

About 1 inch in the cigar is burning evenly and has a pretty white ash which is tight. The flavors have settled down. The flavor which was either brown sugar or caramel is definitely caramel. There is a lot of tangy orange citrus which is equaled by the sweet dark chocolate. The caramel in the mix give is even more sweetness. You can detect the nutmeg but it's rather minor. And, the black coffee base is very good and deep. The black pepper is moving up and is definitely an 8 now. Actually, the black pepper is one of the stars of this cigar.

At the first third (26 minutes) the flavors are just like the previous segment but the black coffee is now an espresso and definitely elevated. It's very deep and dark. The other flavors of citrus, dark chocolate, caramel, and nutmeg are all still in play. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is one of nutmeg, light caramel, and a nice amount of lingering black pepper. The cigar is impressive so far. I rated the first third at 91.

At the second third (49 minutes) nothing much has changed. The espresso did tone down a little to more manageable amounts. The cigar became more in balance. The cigar is very close to full bodied now. The cigar tastes full bodied. The finish is unchanged. The black pepper remains very good. For the second third I maintained the score of 91.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 4 minutes. The citrus became more of a cedar in the final third. I still had plenty of the sweet dark chocolate, caramel, and espresso. There was an average amount of nutmeg that only accentuated the cigar. The black pepper is excellent in this cigar; definitely a star of the cigar. Plus, it's also very good on the finish. The finish is unchanged. The cigar is very close to full bodied; call it a high end medium to full. This has been a very good cigar. I held the score of 91 for the final third.

Overall Score: 91
