Carrillo Cigar Co. will begin shipping its 2019 TAA Exclusive this week, which is the La Historia TAA 656, measuring 6 inches long by 56 ring gauge.
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, one of a select few members of the Cigar Aficionado Hall of Fame, is known for creating not only the Encore Majestic 96 rated #1 Cigar of the Year, but also for being one of the first to put big ring gauge cigars in the market. As Ernesto likes to say, “Even non-big ring gauge cigar lovers can enjoy Carrillo Cigars big ring gauges.” Ernesto strives to make big ring gauge cigars an everyday favorite and feels that this 56 ring gauge new size in the La Historia blend brings out the type of complexity and flavors he likes in a cigar.
La Historia TAA 656 is made in the Dominican Republic at Perez-Carrillo’s Tabacalera La Alianza factory. The cigars consist of a dark, Mexican wrapper, Ecuadoran binder and Nicaraguan filler, the same blend as the La Historia E-III which was named by Cigar Aficionado the #2 cigar of the year in 2014.
The TAA 656 will retail for $11.50 per smoke and come in 10-count boxes. TAA exclusives such as this one are made especially for retailers who are part of the Tobacconists’ Association of America.
