JFR Lunatic Loco El Loquito (4 3/4 x 60)

Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)
At the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show, Aganorsa Leaf introduced three unique giant perfecto sizes under its JFR Lunatic line collectively known as Lunatic Loco. The cigars will be highlighted by Aganorsa’s Leaf proprietary Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapper grown on its Aganorsa Farms in Jalapa, Nicaragua.

The new Lunatic Loco sizes include perfectos measuring: 4 3/4 x 60, 4 3/4 x 70, and 5 1/2 x 80. The Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapper is something Aganorsa Leaf has recently introduced. For many years, Aganorsa Leaf has sourced most of its maduro leaves from Mexico, but with the Shade Grown Corojo Maduro, Aganorsa Leaf is using its own maduro wrapper grown in Jalapa. This wrapper was recently unveiled on the Aganorsa Leaf Signature Maduro.

The remainder of the blend for Lunatic Loco also features 100% Aganorsa farm tobacco.

Each of the three sizes is packaged in boxes of ten cigars. Pricing will range from $8.70-$9.99 SRP.

The cigar is very well made and has a very nice feel in the hand.

The cap is finished with a tight pigtail.

The test draw after taking the pigtail off was very good. The initial flavors at light up were sweet cedar, brown sugar, caramel, chocolate, nutmeg, light leather, and black coffee. Nice start.

At the first third (36 minutes) the larger ring really changed things. Now I had a little cedar, brown sugar, cocoa, a vegetable type nutmeg, new leather, and black coffee. The nutmeg and leather are combining. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is cedar, cocoa, brown sugar and nice lingering black pepper. I don't have the caramel any more. The light leather is now new leather and more prominent. The nutmeg has a very distinct vegetable-type flavor. These are unique flavors but the cigar has nice sweetness. I rated the first third 93.

Moving through the second third (1 hour 4 minutes) the cigar kept changing. I still had the cedar and some brown sugar but the nutmeg and leather are greatly decreased. There is now a dark chocolate and elevated black coffee. The cigar is now full bodied. The finish is unchanged. There is some sweetness to go with the dark chocolate so I rated the second third 92.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 28 minutes. I thought the nutmeg and new leather would come back at some point but they didn't. There is now minimal cedar and brown sugar, a lot of dark chocolate, and black coffee. For the most part you will notice the dark chocolate and black coffee. The cigar is full bodied. The finish is unchanged. In the final third the cigar dropped off a bit. I rated the final third 90. For some reason the maduro offerings from Aganorsa Leaf just don't hit it with me. The "naturals" like the Torch are much better. Their maduros aren't bad but not nearly as good as the natural versions.

Overall Score: 91.67
