ADVentura Navigator Cadamosto (6 1/4 x 50)

Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Adventuracigars.com website)

Navigator is the second release from Adventura. This cigar utilizes a nautical theme.

From the ADVentura Chronicles:

With the new discovery of tobacco, ADVentura and his companion McKay joyfully went back home. The way from the island of Kiskeya back to the old world was anything but easy. Rough sea, infernal storms and a sickly crew often strained the nerves of the explorers. Nautical precision was the demand. Each route was measured, calculated and accurately recorded into the logbook. The required concentration and the pressure while navigating, called for an immediate mental relaxation. What a blessing, ADVentura and McKay had enough leaves of this delightful and exquisite herb with them! McKay hurried into the storage.

Shocked he realized that all the different tobacco leaves had ended up in a total mess due to the stormy weather. McKay picked spontaneously a couple of leaves, rolled and instantly lighted them. The freshly rolled herb revealed a medium-strong and a wonderful bouquet of mocha and roasted nut in the first quarter. Further, some leathery spicy flavours with hints of toffee and caramel aromas delighted the palate. McKay was blown away and ran excitedly to ADVentura on deck, who already had land in sight ...

The cigar is a torpedo shape. Actually I'd call it a pyramid since it tapers the full length of the cigar after the cap. It starts out at approximately 40 ring and gradually tapers to a 50 ring at the foot. It has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa, light cedar, leather, and black coffee. The start is quite dark and not very sweet.

At the first third (30 minutes) the cigar is starting to develop the flavors. The chocolate is developing more defined notes and the brown sugar is increasing. There's a citrus peel note to go along with the light leather and black coffee. The black pepper at this point is about average. I rated it 7. The finish is semi-sweet chocolate and pretty good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied. The cigar is still very dark but it's getting some added sweetness and development. I rated the first third 91.

As I moved through the second third (50 minutes) the cigar is really starting to get better. The citrus notes are starting to come out. There are nice cocoa notes to go along with the semi-sweet chocolate. There are now nutmeg notes and increasing brown sugar. The finish is cocoa and nutmeg with very good lingering black pepper. The black pepper on the front end has increased to 8. The cigar is medium bodied. I like the improvements. I rated the second third 93.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 7 minutes. The cigar is the best it's been so far in this third. The ring gauge has steadily decreased which indicates the smaller ring cigars in this blend may be the better of the bunch. The notes now are semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa, light cedar, a drop or two of citrus, brown sugar, a small amount of toffee, very light leather, and black coffee. The cigar now is medium to full bodied. The finish is brown sugar, toffee, and very good lingering black pepper. The front end black pepper is now 8 1/2. It has steadily increased throughout the burn. I rated the final third 94. This is a good cigar that starts out dark and undeveloped but improves through the second and third stage.

Overall Score: 92.67
