(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)

At the 2021 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Patina Cigars introduced three new sizes to its Patina Maduro line.

The new sizes being added to Patina Maduro include: Precipitation (4 x 50), Copper (6 x 46), and Bronze (6 x 52). The new sizes join the Rustic (5 x 42) and Oxidation (6 x 56) sizes that were introduced last year. The Patina Maduro features an undisclosed blend. Like the existing Patina Connecticut and Patina Habano lines, production for the Patina Maduro comes from the NACSA factory in EstelĂ, Nicaragua. Distribution for all Patina Cigars is handled by Sutliff Tobacco.

In a press release, Patina brand owner Mo Maali commented, “The addition of these sizes to the Maduro line allow us to showcase this unique blend in new formats and to build on the strength of the initial release last year. We have some more exciting projects in the works, but I wanted to make sure to round out the Maduro offerings heading into PCA before introducing additional lines”.

Copper: 6 x 46 (Corona Gorda) REVIEWED TODAY

Bronze: 6 x 52 (Toro)

Oxidation: 6 x 56 (Double Toro)

The cigar is a medium brown and well made. It has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were cedar, citrus peel, very light brown sugar, nutmeg, and dry cocoa. There was black pepper rated at 7. Nothing is really popping.

At the first third (23 minutes) the flavors are about like they started but there is definitely more brown sugar, which was nice to have. There is also a little twang of citrus. There now is the development of a black coffee base. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is cocoa and nutmeg with average or below lingering black pepper. The cigar is not bad but it's not wowing me. I rated the first third 91.

As I moved through the second third (48 minutes) there is a little more sweetness in the cigar. There are now chocolate notes, also. The black pepper improved. The brown sugar seems to give the cigar a nice sweetness. The black coffee is more noticeable. The finish is more of a chocolate and nutmeg and average lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied leaning toward medium to full. The cigar made a modest improvement. I rated the second third 92.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 7 minutes. The brown sugar is elevated. I also had chocolate, light nutmeg, and a light black coffee base. I did not have the citrus peel any more. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is unchanged. The cigar continues to be ok but it's still not a wowing cigar. I held the score of 92 for the final third.

Overall score: 91.67
