All Saints Dedicación Mitre (5 x 54 Round Torpedo)

Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)

All Saints Cigars was started on November 1, 2019, which happens to be All Saints Day. It was started by Micky Pegg, Frank Layo and Martin Corboy.

This year they are adding a vitola to their inaugural line named Dedicación. The new vitola is called Mitre. It is a 5 x 54 round torpedo that will have an MSRP of $9.95 and is also sold in boxes of 20. This line is also made at Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, Inc.’s TAVICUSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The cigar uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua.

The cigar is nice looking and features a pointed cap with an abrupt transition. The cigar has a nice feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was pretty good but I used the PerfecDraw tool to open the draw a bit. The initial flavors at light up were a lot of citrus peel, a minor amount of orange citrus, some brown sugar, a thick, chunky nutmeg, and a very earthy black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2 to 8. A rather dark start with some sweetness.

At the first third (27 minutes) the cigar is burning very evenly. There is a little more sweetness at this stage. The citrus peel is not quite as prominent. There is a little more of an actual orange citrus with brown sugar. There are also some toffee notes. The nutmeg is still there and it's in abundance but it's held in check somewhat by the uptick in sweetness. There is still plenty of earthy black coffee. The finish is quite a bit of nutmeg with a minor amount of toffee with pretty good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied at this point. I rated the first third 92.

Moving through the second third (53 minutes) the cigar turned much darker. The black coffee became elevated. All the notes are still in play but the coffee notes are cloaking some of the sweeter notes. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is nutmeg, black coffee, and a thread or two of toffee. I rated the second third 90.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 9 minutes. The cigar managed to get back a little of the sweetness it had in the first third. The black coffee toned down a little. The finish is unchanged. The cigar reached full bodied. This is a nice cigar. Worth a try. I rated the final third 91.

Overall Score: 91
