Viaje Skull & Bones MOAB 2022 (Mother of all bombs) (4 1/2 x 52 Robusto)

Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com and Halfwheel.com websites)

Nearly three years since their last appearance, the Viaje Skull and Bones MOAB has returned for 2022.

The MOAB is a Nicaraguan puro that uses a sun grown criollo wrapper. The MOAB first debuted in 2011.

It is a 4 1/2 x 52 robusto and part of the Skull and Bones White Label blend.

The cigar is short and dark. It has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were light citrus with some sweet black cherry, sweet toffee, dry nutmeg, light leather, and black coffee. There is more leather than black coffee. There was a lot of black pepper rated at 8. Nice start.

At the first third (21 minutes) there is more of a cedar/cherry mix, toffee, nutmeg, and a little leathery black coffee that is mostly covered in black pepper. You get more black pepper than leathery coffee. The cigar is medium bodied, leaning toward medium to full. The finish is toffee and nutmeg with very good lingering black pepper. I like the sweet notes in this cigar to go along with all that pepper. I rated the first third 93.

Moving through the second third (36 minutes) nothing has changed. The same flavor notes are still there. The only thing that changed is the pepper may have ticked up a little. The cigar is still quite enjoyable, especially if you like sweetness and pepper. I held the score of 93.

The cigar lasted 51 minutes. Nothing reportable changed in the final third except the strength. It's now full bodied. The black pepper is still intense. The sweetness of toffee is still there and may have ticked up while the cherry notes may have decreased. A net 0 score change. The finish is unchanged, also. This is one of those cigars that what you have at the start is what you'll have throughout. I enjoyed it. I held the score of 93. A nice, short smoke.

Overall Score: 93
