The cigar is dark and plays off well with the dark blue band. It has an average feel in the hand. The cigar is listed as box pressed on the website but it appears to be round.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were citrus, apricot, citrus peel, brown sugar, a little nutmeg, dark chocolate fudge, and black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 to 7 1/2. Nice start.
At the first third (25 minutes) I had citrus, light apricot, brown sugar, nutmeg, dark chocolate fudge, and black coffee. The citrus peel seems to have dropped off for now. The finish is cocoa and black coffee with good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied. The dark notes are very tasty when combined with the sweeter notes. I rated the first third 94.
Moving through the second third (49 minutes) the cigar has gotten a little darker. The dark chocolate fudge and black coffee have risen, particularly the black coffee. The sweet notes suffered a little but not to a great amount. The cigar is now medium to full bodied. The finish has some citrus, a little citrus peel, fudge, and black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. With the rise in darker notes I lowered the score to 93.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 4 minutes. The cigar kept on the same path. It got a little darker. The dark chocolate fudge flavor is very nice but it was better with the higher levels of sweeter notes. The citrus and apricot notes are still there but they are decreased. The cigar is medium to full bodied but it's pushing hard toward full bodied. The finish is back to dark chocolate fudge and black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. I rated the final third 92. This is a good dark noted cigar.
