EMPIRE SOCIAL LOUNGE TO HOST “THE GREAT AMERICAN SLOW SMOKE COMPETITION ” SANCTIONED BY THE CIGAR SMOKING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Empire Social Lounge Downtown Dadeland to host a slow smoke competition on Saturday September 17, 4:00 PM. Naming it “The Great American Slow Smoke Competition” it is being officially sanctioned by the Cigar Smoking World Championship as a stand-alone event. The official cigar for the competition is the newly announced Sangre Nueva by Casa Cuevas Cigars. Winner of the competition takes home $300 first place prize and bragging rights! Second earns $200, and third earns $100 prize. (See complete rules below). Empire Social Lounge Downtown Dadeland is located at 8955 Dadeland Blvd D107, Miami, FL 33156.

The Great American Slow Smoke Rules & Regulations:

Entry fee of $75. Each participant will receive a Casa Cuevas Sangre Nueva cigar and 2 cocktails by Bulleit bourbon. 

Rules: 

• To start each person will get only 2 matches. If matches go out and you have not lit the cigar you will be disqualified.

• Everyone gets 2 minutes to light and cut their cigar. Make sure you got the perfect balanced burn on that cigar if you want to stand a chance to win!

• Once the 2 minutes is up the competition clock starts.

• For the first 20 minutes smoker cannot ash their cigar. During this time period if the smoker ashes the cigar, they will be disqualified. After the 20 minutes is up, the smoker is free to keep the long ash on the cigar or ash it as you see fit.

• The goal is to see who can keep their cigar lit/smoking the longest.

• If the smokes ash reaches the band of the cigar and there are any burn marks the smoker is disqualified. 

• If the smoker can keep the cigar lit under the cigar band with zero burn marks (This has and can happen) then the judges will closely watch the smoker. The first sign of any burns on the cigar band means that the smoker will be disqualified. 

• We will supply the same matches, cutter, and cigar to each participant.

• The winner will be determined by who is the last smoker standing with the largest amount of time on the clock.

• May the best Man or Woman win!

• Each participant will get a cigar to smoke and 2 Bulleit bourbon drinks.
