Villiger Miami 2022 Laguito No.1 (7 1/2 x 38)

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)

It’s called Villiger Miami 2022 and no; it’s not made in Miami.

“We named the cigars Villiger Miami 2022 because, since the beginning of 2021, it has been the cigar we give to our friends, customers and colleagues when they visit our Miami office,” said Rene Castaneda, president of Villiger Cigars North America.

The Villiger Miami 2022 is offered in two sizes. It was blended by José Matias Maragoto at the ABAM Cigar Factory in the Domincian Republic. It uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut desflorado wrapper over a Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic.

Villiger Miami 2022 Robusto (5 x 50) — $15 (Box of 10, $150)

Only 500 boxes of each size were produced due to the limited amount of tobacco.

It debuted at the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which took place July 9-12 in Las Vegas, and shipped to stores in August.

The cigar looks like a pencil, long and thin. It has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were quite nice; citrus peel, some cedar, some orange citrus, brown sugar, a chewy nutmeg, and light leather. There was black pepper rated at 7 to 7 1/2. A nice start.

At the first third (18 minutes) the flavors are similar to the way it started. Now the flavors are citrus peel, heavy brown sugar, light nutmeg, and moderate leather. The finish is brown sugar and light leather with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied. The cigar is quite tasty. I rated the first third 94.

As I moved through the second third (39 minutes) there was a little uptick in the leather. It took away a little of the sweetness. The cigar is still medium bodied. The finish is now leather with good lingering black pepper. The cigar remains good but it lost just a little with the increased leather. I rated the second third 93.

The cigar lasted 58 minutes. The final third had brown sugar as the only sweet note, elevated leather, and (now) black coffee. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is back to light brown sugar and leather with good lingering black pepper. I rated the final third 91. This is a good cigar and well worth a try. If you see it, try it.

Overall Score: 92.67
