Santana Cigars Co. makes its instruction with its premiere blend, the Santana San Andres. A lifetime in the making Santana Cigars will finally make its debut in January 2023. President of Santana cigars, Andy Santana brings with him the passion, experience, and love of tobacco that was instilled in him by his grandfather in Cuba. The Santana San Andres blend was a collaboration between Andy and Master Blender William Ventura.
Santana Cigars was born out of passion, history, and serves as a dedication to the family patriarch, his grandfather, Manuel Montero. Manuel, a cigar roller in Havana, Cuba served as a role model for Andy. His adolescent years were filled with trips to farms in Pinar del Rio, the epicenter of Cuban premium tobacco. These childhood memories with his grandfather helped foster his passion for tobacco.
Escaping communist Cuba in 1990 at age 13 Andy Santana landed in Miami, FL. and was reunited with his grandfather who came to the U.S. at an earlier date. Andy went on to earn a degree from Florida International University and opened several successful businesses outside of tobacco. Not satisfied, he decided to pursue what he felt was his destiny. Andy sold his business and purchased “Absolute Cigar Shop”, a cigar lounge in Brickell-Miami. So successful was Absolute Cigar that he opened a second location in Little Havana, Miami. Fast forward Andy wishes to honor his grandfather with the creation of Santana Cigars. The first brand that Santana Cigars will showcase is the Santana San Andres.
The Santana San Andres is a box-pressed cigar that boasts the characteristics of Mexican San Andrew tobacco. Harty and bold, yet smooth and well balanced the Santana San Andres is a very complex cigar with many nuanced flavors. Andy, a lover of Mexican San Andres tobacco feels that this special tobacco should live in everyone’s humidor. Special attention was given to the Santana San Andres to make bold yet smooth which will please the seasoned and novice smoker.
