"Liga 56 is quite the unique cigars. Originally it was going to be a traditional round cigar. But when I actually started to learn specifically about box pressed cigars I learned that the same cigar box pressed and round have completely different flavor profiles. And not to say that the traditional round Liga was not good just happened that for some reason when I got the feeling to box press Liga 56 it caught me by surprise how the blend came out. I am actually planning to release the original traditional round Liga 56 at some point towards the end of the year," said Carlos Nodal, owner of Ultimate Cigars Club.
The cigar is a Nicaraguan puro. The tobaccos in this blend have been aged over 6 years.

The cigar is dark and well made. It is box pressed and has a nice feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were peach, citrus, brown sugar, nutmeg, and dark chocolate. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Pretty good start.
At the first third (26 minutes) the cigar is just like it started; peach, citrus, brown sugar, nutmeg, and dark chocolate. The finish is light peach and dark chocolate with good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied. The cigar feels like it may move up in strength. A nice flavor mix. I rated the first third 93.
Moving through the second third (1 hour) I lost the citrus notes. I now had light peach, brown sugar, light leather, and dark chocolate. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is leather and dark chocolate with good lingering black pepper. The cigar got a little darker. I rated the second third 92.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 26 minutes. I had faint peach notes, fairly faint brown sugar, light leather, and dark chocolate. The cigar is medium to full bodied, leaning toward full. The finish is peach and dark chocolate with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar made a slow roll downhill but it's still pretty good. I rated the final third 91. Well worth trying.
