Mr. Fahrenheit by Black Star Line Cigars (6 x 46 corona gorda)

Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)

In early August, the Black Star Line Cigars Mr. Fahrenheit Corona Gorda began shipping out. It’s a 6 x 46 corona gorda with a shaggy foot that uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. It is made at TABACALERA LA iSLA in the Dominican Republic.

This is the second size for the line. A 5 x 50 robusto was offered at Underground Cigar Shop’s NFG23 event in the spring, though that size was limited to 1,000 cigars. The name refers to a lyric in Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

The Corona Gorda has an MSRP of $11.99 per cigar and is offered in boxes and bundles of 20 cigars, each priced the same. It is a regular production offering.

A nice looking cigar with an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was firm. I decided to see if the cigar would open up on it's own. The initial flavor at light up were citrus, cedar, brown sugar, citrus peel, cinnamon, and leather. There was black pepper rated at 8+. Not a bad start.

At the first third (28 minutes) I had a lot of the same notes. The citrus peel is coming out a little more. There's still citrus notes and now there are light toffee notes also. The leather is very manageable. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is brown sugar and citrus with good lingering black pepper. The cigar is good overall but the increased citrus peel holds it back. I rated the first third 93.

As I moved through the second third (1 hour 7 minutes) there was slightly more brown sugar but there was still elevated citrus peel. The citrus notes are very light. Now the leather is an earthy leathery black coffee and there's a decent amount. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is leather with very good lingering black pepper. The front end flavors didn't really improve since there is so much citrus peel and the earthy leathery black coffee is too high. I rated the second third 91.

The cigar lasted an impressive 1 hour 35 minutes. A very good burn time for a corona gorda. The citrus peel pulled back a little allowing the citrus to come up. There is still plenty of earthy leathery black coffee but it's a little more in line. The cigar is full bodied. The finish is a little citrus and leather with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar made a little improvement. I rated the final third 92. Pretty good cigar from Black Star Line.

Overall Score: 92
