Matt Booth and Justin Andrews are at it again. The dynamic duo have developed their second collaboration for Sancho Panza. Called Sancho Panza Extra Chido, the new, three-cigar, full-time collection ships on April 1 and marks the first time a Sancho Panza blend has been made in the Dominican Republic.

REDEMPTION BY EL TITÁN de BRONZE | DISTRIBUTED BY GENERAL CIGAR COMPANY

El Titán de Bronze Cigar Factory announces the launch of an exclusive new blend of Redemption.

Developed by Sandy Cobas and her daughter Giselle Herrera in tribute to revered family matriarch Martha Cobas and patriarch Carlos Cobas for their unending support, Redemption reflects the family’s multi-generational commitment to cigarmaking.

Sandy Cobas, owner of El Titán de Bronze said, “Redemption embodies my family’s legacy and it’s an invitation to explore our way of crafting cigars. This is the first cigar in our almost thirty-year history that will be distributed for us, and it’s an incredibly special moment for me, my family and our cigar makers. We’ve worked hard over the years and through all the ups and downs, we’ve stayed true to our way of making cigars -- one cigar at a time in very small quantities. Knowing that cigar smokers all over the country will now have the chance to experience the work of El Titán de Bronze makes it feel like we’ve finally arrived.”

Redemption is crafted with a Nicaraguan binder from Esteli, with Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Esteli and Jalapa and is enveloped in a hearty, sungrown Ecuadorian Habano Claro wrapper. The medium-bodied smoke is meaty, with notes of pepper, raisins and dark chocolate.

The blend is being released in three sizes and will be sold in U.S. cigar retail shops according to a careful selection process initiated by General Cigar, the brand’s distributor. The line will be available as a full time, limited quantity offering following its release in July 2024.

The Redemption blend will be crafted by eight certified level 9 Cuban expatriate cigarmakers and four comparably certified Nicaraguan cigar makers. Level 9 is the highest level that a cigarmaker can achieve, as only a few possess the dexterity and artistic touch required to meet the stringent qualifications.

El Titán de Bronze Redemption Corona (5.62” x 46); SRP per cigar $15.99

El Titán de Bronze Robusto (5” x 50); SRP per cigar $16.99

El Titán de Bronze Toro (6” x 52); SRP per cigar $17.99

Macanudo Launches New Emissary Brand with España Expression

Macanudo proudly presents Emissary, a new brand created to deliver sophisticated smoking experiences. The line will debut on March 25 with its first, full-time expression called Macanudo Emissary España.

Steve Abbot, director of marketing for Macanudo explained, “The inspiration for Emissary came from our search for a refined smoking experience influenced by European sophistication. Using Spanish tobacco to create Macanudo Emissary Espana, we are confident that we’ve delivered on this goal.”

Owing its allure to a rare Havana seed tobacco from a rural region in West-Central Spain and to aged tobaccos whose complexity has deepened over time, Macanudo Emissary España is a masterfully-derived, five-country blend.

The tobacco that inspired Macanudo Emissary España’s name is grown near the town of Riolobos, Spain. There, the region’s rocky soil and Mediterranean climate yield a rich tobacco that is completely unique. Grown near olive trees and pepper fields used for paprika, the tobacco is characterized by thick, oily leaves from the warm, dry summer days and mild nights. When combined with the area’s rocky soil, the result is tobacco with intensity and complexity.“

Several additional fillers comprise the blend, including five-year-aged Dominican Piloto, six-year-aged Nicaraguan and five-year-aged Colombian tobacco. The binder is a six-year-old Nicaraguan leaf from Condega and is crowned with a gleaming Connecticut-grown Broadleaf Claro wrapper that has been aged for five years.  Intriguingly complex with a captivating aroma, the medium-bodied cigar offers prevalent notes of toasted cedar, almonds and caramel.

Crafted at HATSA in Honduras, the cigars are double banded and presented in handcrafted wooden boxes with gold and blue branding. Each box protects 16 cigars.

Robusto (5” x 52); SRP per cigar $14.99

Toro (6” x 52); SRP per cigar $15.99

Churchill (7” x 48); SRP per cigar $16.99

Perfecto (6” x 40 x 54); SRP per cigar $17.99

Macanudo Emissary España is the first new line for Macanudo since 2018.
