Diesel Vintage Series is expanding to include a new blend called Diesel Vintage Series Natural. The five-cigar collection debuted in March, 2024.
Diesel Vintage Series Natural compliments Diesel Vintage Series, the Maduro-wrapped line that launched last year. Both blends were made to deliver the luxury of premium, aged tobaccos at an accessible price.
Handcrafted at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in EstelĂ, Nicaragua and developed in collaboration between AJ Fernandez and Justin Andrews, Diesel Vintage Series Natural is a Nicaraguan-forward smoke with deeply-aged filler tobaccos.
Justin Andrews said, “For Diesel Series Natural, AJ and I took the opportunity to highlight the aged tobacco in the blend. We introduced a natural wrapper to deliver a transformative effect on the blend and make the aging of the filler more pronounced. The result is a cigar that not only delivers the signature, bold experience that Diesel is known for, but also introduces layers of rich and satisfying complexity.”
Made with an Ecuadorian wrapper, a Nicaraguan Habano binder from Esteli and a range of Nicaraguan Jalapa filler tobaccos aged from five to seven years, the cigar begins with creamy notes that transition to earthiness as the cigar progresses. A characteristic Nicaraguan spice and cedar undertone is found throughout.

On September 12, 2023 I reviewed the Maduro (original release) of the Diesel Vintage Series. It received a score of 92.67.
The cigar is well made and has a nice feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were a lemony citrus, brown sugar, cinnamon, and leather. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Very good start.
At the first third (27 minutes) I had the same notes. There is a lot of brown sugar mixing very well with the lemony citrus. Plus there's a lot of cinnamon. There's a nice leather base. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is leather with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is very tasty. The notes are right up my alley. I rated the first third 94.
As I moved through the second third (1 hour) the cigar actually got sweeter. There is more brown sugar mixing very well with the lemony citrus and nice cinnamon. There is now a leathery black coffee base. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is unchanged. I am really enjoying this cigar. I rated the second third 95.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 15 minutes. Nothing changed. It's still massively sweet and very enjoyable. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is unchanged. I really like the lemony citrus and brown sugar with cinnamon in this cigar. The leathery black coffee is a nice base and does not draw too much attention to itself. I held the score of 95. Put this one on your radar. Great price point. Great flavors. Great cigar.
