Viaje has announced that it has shipped a brand new line to retailers. The line is called Vampire Dust.

So far, the company has not released much in the way of details other than to say that the line will be offered in two sizes, one measuring 5 x 54 and the other measuring 6 x 52, and that the cigars began shipping to stores on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Available vitolas:

Viaje Vampire Dust Whispered Promise (5 x 54) — $12 (Box of 24, $288)

Viaje Vampire Dust Eternal Night (6 x 52) — $12 (Box of 24, $288) REVIEWED TODAY

In social media posts announcing the line, the company wrote:

IN THE FORGOTTEN HOURS, where shadows danced and moonlight died, the Order of the Crimson Veil distilled the essence of eternal night. Their legacy remains, a whispered promise, in the dust they left behind…

Some say that on certain nights, when the moon hangs low in the sky, the wind carries the whispers of the Order, beckoning those who would unlock the secrets of the Vampire Dust.

A representative from the company said that he did not have any additional information about the new line.

The cigar is a medium brown and has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were lime, brown sugar, tanned leather, and earthiness. There was black pepper rated at 7 to 7 1/2.

At the first third (20 minutes) the tanned leather is coming out a little more. The lime and brown sugar is ok but there is a lot of earthiness. At points there seems to be some black coffee creeping around. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is leather with good lingering black pepper. The cigar isn't grabbing me but it's in the ok category. I rated the first third 90.

Moving through the second third (40 minutes) the tanned leather is moving up while the lime and brown sugar are moving down. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is tanned leather with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is slowly slipping away. I rated the second third 88.

The cigar lasted 1 hour. In the final third there was a sort of bounce back. The brown sugar went up nicely. The lime is subdued but there. The brown sugar saved the cigar. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is unchanged. While this is not the greatest cigar it got better in the final third. I rated it 90.

Overall Score: 89.33
