(Description provided by Artesano del Tobacco)

Artesano Del Tobacco is thrilled to announce the launch of its latest addition to celebrated EL Pulpo cigar line: the new EL Pulpo Lancero, affectionately named “THE EEL.”. This exquisite pigtail Lancero measures a refined 7 X 38 round and began shipping to cigar stores nation wide on Tuesday February 18th 2025.

“The EEL” maintains the same beloved blend as the original EL Pulpo cigars, featuring a rich Mexican San Andreas Maduro wrapper paired with Nicaraguan binder and filler. What sets this new size apart is a unique fermentation process for both the wrapper and binder, enhancing the sweetness and roasting elements of its already vibrant flavor profile. Crafted meticulously at AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua, each cigar promises an elevated smoking experience.

Encased in a beautifully designed wooden box that mirrors the original EL Pulpo packaging, each box holds ten perfectly rolled Lancero cigars.

“We owe our success to our loyal consumers,” say Billy, Bass & Gus of Artesano Del Tobacco. “Based on the overwhelming support and high ratings of THE El Pulpo blend, we reached out to our fans for their input on what size they would like next. The majority expressed their desire for a Lancero that showcases the beauty of our San Andreas Maduro wrapper. We believe they are absolutely right; this size not only celebrates but highlights our well-aged San Andreas Maduro wrapper.”Product Details:

The cigar is dark and slender. It has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was a little firm but workable. The initial flavors at light up were the sweetness of a lemon drop, a lot of brown sugar, worn leather, and black coffee, There was black pepper rated at 8. Very nice start.

At the first third (20 minutes) there is a lot of sweetness and dark notes in the cigar. There are now nice cinnamon notes to go along with the other notes. The sweetness is really nice and there's a lot of brown sugar to go with the lemon drop notes. There's a touch of leather mixed in which is actually nice. And there's a lot of black coffee at the base. The cigar is full bodied. The finish is a little of the lemon drop flavor and black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is very good. It's stout with a lot of sweetness and plenty of dark notes. I rated the first third 96.

As I moved through the second third (41 minutes) the cigar is getting better. The sweetness is working very well and now there's toffee. Lemon drop, brown sugar, cinnamon, toffee, leather, and black coffee. The cigar comes at you full force. The cigar is full bodied. The finish is leather with hints of toffee and very good lingering black pepper. This is an impressive cigar. I rated the second third 97.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 4 minutes. It has gotten rich. Same notes. Same strength. It is very full bodied. The finish is leather with a lot of sweetness of brown sugar and toffee and very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is very, very good. AJ did a great job on this cigar. I held the score of 97. Fantastic cigar.
