A true cigar aficionado knows the importance of selecting the right cigar for the right occasion and appointing time to savor it. El Rey del Mundo’s appointment was created to help fans do just that.
Crafted at the HATSA factory in Honduras, Appointment is blended with Nicaraguan and Ecuadorian tobacco bound by a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and encased in an expertly grown Cameroon seed wrapper from the Aladino farm.
Cultivated in Honduran soil, every element of this blend is intentionally grown and crafted. Rich in heritage and flavor, Appointment reflects tradition, innovation, and the culture of El Rey del Mundo.
Senior brand manager for El Rey del Mundo, Ed Lahmann, says, “El Rel del Mundo Appointment is blended for the cigar lover who understands the importance of choosing the right cigar for the right occasion. It’s about taking the time to select and enjoy the perfect cigar. And for us, El Rel del Mundo Appointment is that perfect cigar.”
Appointment boasts herbal notes of mild pepper, caramel, and cedar for a medium and complex smoke. This blend goes perfectly with doppelbock, medium roast coffee, and bourbon for a complimentary experience.
El Rey del Mundo’s Appointment is a full-time blend available in Robusto (5 X 50), Toro (6 X 54), and Gordo (6.5 X 60). Appointment will begin shipping to retailers on April 14th, 2025.

The cigar is dark and well made. It has a nice feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were a baked apricot, brown sugar, a touch of butter, and earthy black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Nice start.
At the first third (18 minutes) there was apricot and a little citrus influence. I got both. The brown sugar is still nice. There is a touch of cinnamon. The earthy black coffee is rising and has risen quite a bit from the light up. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is light apricot with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar slipped a little from the light up. I rated the first third 93.
Moving through the second third (37 minutes) the black coffee and earthiness continues to slowly rise. The sweet notes are nice but the elevated black coffee and earthiness is hurting the cigar. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. The rising black coffee and earthiness are slowly hurting the cigar. I rated the second third 92.
The cigar lasted 54 minutes. It stayed on the same path. It slowly develops more black coffee and earthiness. The sweet notes are nice and you get them but the earthy black coffee gets in the way. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is unchanged. I rated the final third 91. This cigar is close to being very good, maybe even great. It started out very nice but it couldn't hold it. Give it a try and see what you think.
