The godfather of La Gloria Cubana, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, is returning to his roots for a new blend. Los Gloriosos by La Gloria Cubana is a testament to Ernesto and the brand's shared heritage, more than living up to its name, which translates to “The Glorious Ones.”
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo has been a key player in the success and development of La Gloria Cubana since its early days. And now, Carrillo has returned to create another remarkable blend. Crafted at the renowned Casa Carrillo, Los Gloriosos is everything La Gloria Cubana stands for: innovation, history, and culture.
“We are honored to welcome Ernesto Perez-Carrillo back to the house he built,” says John Hakim, brand manager for La Gloria Cubana. “Los Gloriosos by La Gloria Cubana is everything fans have come to love about the brand and more. Los Gloriosos lives up to the standards of the past, proving that sometimes you CAN come home again.”
Los Gloriosos is a complex fuller-bodied and well-balanced blend of premium tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a binder from Jalapa, Nicaragua and fillers from the Dominican Republic as well as Nicaragua’s Condega and Jalapa regions.
This full-time blend is available in a 20-count boxes in the following frontmarks: Toro (6 X 50), Gigante (6 X 60), and Grandioso (7 X 58).

The cigar is dark brown and has an average feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good with a touch of firmness. The initial flavors at light up were unripened pear, light toffee, cinnamon, and earthy black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Pretty good start.
At the first third (22 minutes) the pear is a little more pronounced, brown sugar, light toffee, cinnamon, and earthy black coffee. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is pear with light black coffee and very good lingering black pepper. The notes are working well. I rated the first third 94.
Moving through the second third (49 minutes) the pear notes have decreased. The brown sugar is still there but I'm not sure about the toffee. It seems to have gone away. There is a lot of earthy black coffee. The cigar is medium bodied, leaning toward medium to full. The finish is black coffee with very good lingering black pepper. I rated the second third 93.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 16 minutes. The pear notes are rather light and the brown sugar may have decreased a little. You get most of your sweetness from the pear. Other than that you have a lot of earthy black coffee. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is pear with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar has gotten a little darker and a touch less sweetness. I rated the final third 92. This is a pretty good cigar but I wish the pear and sweet notes were more intense.
