Fermin Perez Bold Maduro (6 x 54)

Video review HERE.

(Description provided by Fermin Perez Cigars)

Bold is not just a name. It’s an attitude.

The Bold Maduro was created for the smoker who doesn’t whisper their presence they announce it. This blend represents strength, confidence, and character, delivered with balance and intention.

Wrapper, Binder, and Filler Composition

Wrapped in a dark, oily San Andres Maduro wrapper from Mexico, the Bold Maduro immediately sets the tone. Known for its richness and natural sweetness, the San Andrés leaf brings depth, texture, and complexity to the cigar.

Beneath it, an Indonesian binder and a carefully selected blend of Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa, Estelí, and Pueblo Nuevo complete a profile that is bold without being overpowering.

The cigar is dark and well made. It has a nice feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were sweet pear, brown sugar, leather, black coffee, and chocolate. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Nice start.

At the first third (20 minutes) the ash was still intact but curling and burning evenly. The main note now is more of a lime and it's somewhat tangy. There is also brown sugar, chocolate, leather, and black coffee. The cigar is medium bodied but I expect it to move up. The finish is chocolate, a little black coffee, and very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is quite tasty at this point. I rated the first third 94.

As I moved through the second third (48 minutes) the sweetness decreased and the dark notes elevated. There were still the lime notes which are lighter with a little bitterness, light brown sugar, black coffee, dark chocolate, and light leather. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is dark chocolate, black coffee, and very good lingering black pepper. The cigar lost a little from the first third. I rated the second third 92.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 14 minutes. The lime notes came out a little more with the brown sugar. They got a little more noticeable. The dark chocolate and black coffee are still there but I don't have the leather. The cigar is full bodied. The finish is unchanged. The cigar made some improvement so I rated the final third 93. This is a good Maduro and worth a try. These can be purchased at smallbatchcigar.com and use code tinytim for 10% off with free shipping.
