Altadis event at Maduro Room/weekend review

Dickson Weir of Altadis was at the Maduro Room on Friday night and was promoting the new Siglo maduro. There was a good group of people in the shop. I left around 8:30 pm just before the raffle drawings. I didn't hear if I won anything but I'm not holding my breath! The new Siglo maduro was a nice cigar. Nice spice with maduro sweetness. I'll do a full review on it in the future. Here I am with Grady and Dickson:

Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary Champagne robusto (5x54)

The wrapper was a light color, slightly darker than a typical Connecticut wrapper. There was an intense cinnamon spice with pepper initially. The finish is very long and pleasing with vanilla notes. There were hints of almonds on the finish also. Nice pepper when exhaled through the nose. The spice is rich and sweet. Medium bodied. Even burn. Very good cigar.

Score: 91

Padilla Habano torpedo (6.2x52)

Very nice looking cigar; well made. Very good draw. Burst of leather initially. 1/4" into the cigar the citrus spice and pepper appear. Deep leather notes mixed into the spice. The finish is fairly long with sweet citrus notes. Medium bodied. Nice cigar.

Don Lino Africa Kifaro (torpedo) (6 1/8x52)

Dark cigar. Very spicey with lots of cinnamon and pepper. The spice is very rich. The finish is long with light vanilla and almond notes. There is a sweetness in the spice. The draw was a little firm. Very tight ash. Even burn. The cinnamon spice is still very heavy at midpoint and beyond. Medium to full bodied.
