Super Bowl weekend review; February 7, 2010

What a great Super Bowl. Congrats to the Saints. I was pulling for you. I'm sure that city is crazy today! Mardi Gras just got more nuts than usual!
.
Before and during the game I managed to get a couple reviews in. The cigars I reviewed are:
.
  • Rocky Patel Old World Reserve corojo robusto
  • Partagas Serie D no. 1 Edicion Limitada 2004

Rocky Patel Old World Reserve corojo robusto (5.5x54)

A gently square pressed cigar. There were cinnamon spice flavors with a balanced pepper. The finish was long with vanilla notes. There are faint citrus notes in the spice. Medium bodied. The cigar does not change much. A good cigar but I did not think it was great.

I chose this cigar to smoke at the start of the Super Bowl. Like the game, the cigar would prove to be unforgettable! This is a dark brown Cuban cigar and one with some age on it! It is from 2004. The cigar started off with an intense cinnamon spice with a ton of pepper. The finish was long with vanilla and raw almond notes. The spice had subtle sweet molasses notes. The spice and sweetness linger a long time. Full bodied. A truly great cigar. Loved it.
