Video review HERE.
In early 2011, there were rumors that there was a special cigar being handed out at My Father cigars events called the My Father S Special. It came in a red cardboard three-pack in only the 5 x 50 Robusto size. You got them when you purchased a box of cigars at My Father events.
The blend was rumored to be similar to the El Centurian blend, which was Pepin's first limited edition cigar back in 2006. Even the bands were strikingly similar. You can see the similarities between the two bands.
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Rosado
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
The cigar is well made and sports a medium to light brown wrapper. The density is nice. Here is a shot of the foot.
The test draw after cutting the cap was perfect. The initial flavors at light up were a sweet, dry cedar, licorice, red pepper and black pepper. The red pepper is noticed attached to the dry cedar and licorice. The black pepper is primarily noticed on the finish. It lingers very nicely. The finish flavors are a cream and licorice combination.
