(Description taken from Cigar-Coop.com website)
Crowned Heads Le Carême Belicosos Finos, a limited edition size of the Le Carême line that was introduced in 2018 is returning once again. The company announced plans for another run now dubbed the Le Carême Belicosos Finos Limited Edition 2019.

“When we released the 2018 LE, we knew we had something special,” commented Jon Huber, Crowned Heads co-founder, in a press release, “but we really had no idea that the Le Carême Belicosos Fino would go on to do what it did. We actually had made the decision to produce the LE 2019 in September last year, well before the annual ‘awards season’ came into play. We also made the decision early on to increase the total production for 2019.”

Le Carême is produced out of Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr‘s Tabacalera La Alianza factory.

Le Carême pays homage to French Cuisine and gets its name from the 19th-century French Chef, Marie-Antoine Carême. The inspiration to go in that direction occurred when Perez-Carrillo Jr. remarked that the blend reminded him of a chocolate soufflé.

The cigar is well made and a beauty to see. It has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were a light touch of cedar, sweet chocolate, licorice, nutmeg, and a light black coffee base. Initially there was black pepper which I rated at 7. The chocolate and licorice notes are very prominent.

At the first third (29 minutes) the cigar is just about like I initially described. There is a touch of buttery note to the cigar. You still have plenty of the chocolate and licorice notes. There is now a touch of brown sugar also. There is a little nutmeg in the mix also. The cedar notes are very light. The black coffee base is still quite light at this point also. The finish is black licorice and a nice lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium to full bodied at this point. I rated the first third at 93.

In the second third (57 minutes) the coffee notes are rising. There are also more brown sugar notes. There are still ample chocolate and licorice notes with some buttery notes. The nutmeg is pretty much gone away. The cigar is very dark but very sweet. The cigar is pretty close to full bodied. I rated the second third also at 93.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 18 minutes. In the final third I got more of the elusive cedar notes. The licorice notes decreased allowing the cedar notes to be more apparent. The black pepper has steadily gone up over the course of the cigar. It is now between 7 1/2 and 8 and it also increased on the finish, which is now licorice, brown sugar, and chocolate. The cigar is a low grade full bodied. This has been a good, consistent cigar. Not much changed over the burn time. I held the score of 93 for the final third. You can purchase these cigars by the box or in 5 packs HERE.

Overall Score: 93
