The cigar is somewhat oily and very dark. It has a nice feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was very good. The initial flavors at light up were a citrus/apricot, citrus peel, nutmeg, a ton of black coffee, and a ton of black pepper which I rated at an 8. A dark, sweet start with loads of pepper.
At the first third (32 minutes) the ash is still intact but in danger of falling any second. The flavors are like they started but they are not evenly distributed. The citrus/apricot is the first flavor you get but you quickly get nutmeg, semi-sweet dark chocolate, and the large amount of black coffee. The black pepper is still very good. The cigar is already full bodied. This cigar is all about dark power; dark chocolate, black coffee, and black pepper. You can already feel the ligero power too. The finish is nutmeg, cocoa, and pretty good lingering black pepper. I feel this cigar could turn either way, better or darker and more full bodied. At this point the cigar is rated 92.
As I moved through the second third (59 minutes) the cigar continues to burn very evenly. Apparently the cigar has made it's decision on which way it will go; darker. Now there are faint notes of apricot, nutmeg, dry cocoa, a ton of unsweetened dark chocolate and earthy black coffee. The cigar is very full bodied. When you retrohale the cigar you experience the full effect of the black pepper. The finish is black coffee, a little cocoa, and nutmeg with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar lost a lot of sweeter notes with the highly elevated darker notes. I rated the second third 88.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 24 minutes. It kept going darker and darker. Now the notes are dry cocoa, unsweetened dark chocolate, and earthy black coffee. The cigar continues to be very full bodied. The finish is unchanged. This cigar would go well after a very sweet dessert where you would normally drink some black coffee. Just have this cigar instead. I rated the final third 84.
