Aganorsa Leaf Cerberus Robusto (5 x 54)

Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Cigar-coop.com website)

Aganorsa Leaf has announced its third blend under its Guardian of the Farm line called Cerberus.

The name Cerberus comes from Greek mythology and refers to a mythical three-headed hound that stood watch at the gates of Hades. The blend consists of 100% Aganorsa Leaf tobacco grown in Nicaragua and features a Corojo 2012 wrapper. This is the first brand released in the Aganorsa Leaf portfolio to utilize the Corojo 2012 wrapper.

“Corojo 2012 is going to add another level of complexity to Aganorsa Leaf’s signature flavor and aroma,” stated Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales & Marketing in a press release. “We wanted to utilize it first on the Cerberus because Guardian of the Farm is most popular with cigar enthusiasts who appreciate the nuances and characteristics of new tobaccos. We think they will be very pleased with the Cerberus.”

Cerberus will have a full launch during the first quarter of 2022. It will be available in three sizes – each produced in 15-count boxes. In addition, there will be a special 6 x 52 Toro-sized vitola made available to the Cigar.com Elite Advantage Loyalty Program beginning November 10, 2021. The soft launch of the Toro will be available in ten-count boxes with a total production of 200 boxes allocated.

The cigar is medium brown and well made. It has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were citrus, light peach, brown sugar, citrus peel, earthy nutmeg, and leather. There was black pepper rated at 7 to 7 1/2. Pretty good basic flavors.

At the first third (30 minutes) the notes were a nice citrus with undertones of peach, brown sugar, light undertones of toffee, a little nutmeg, and light leather. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is brown sugar, light peach, and light leather with pretty good lingering black pepper. The cigar is good but not a "wow" cigar. I rated the first third 93 which is a very good score but with all the hype I expected more.

Moving through the second third (54 minutes) I had citrus, light peach, brown sugar, and a lot of earthy leather. It's a very worn leather and it's pronounced. The sweeter notes are there but the earthy leather is very increased. The cigar is medium bodied leaning toward medium to full. The finish is unchanged. I rated the second third 91.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 15 minutes. In the final third the sweeter notes made a little increase while the earthy leather slightly decreased. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is brown sugar, light peach, and leather with very good lingering black pepper. I rated the final third 92. This is a good basic cigar. Nothing really stands out as overly impressive.

Overall Score: 92
