Viaje The Geisha Natural (6 3/4 x 52 Perfecto)

(no video review)

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)

The cigar is a 6 3/4 x 52 perfecto that will be offered in two blends, one using a Nicaraguan corojo 99 wrapper and the other using a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper. Both cigars use Nicaraguan binders and fillers grown by AGANORSA Leaf, which is producing the cigars at its Agricola Ganadera Norteña S.A. factory in Nicaragua.

The two cigars will come in the same box, with 14 of each version offered in packaging that is designed to resemble a bento box. Pricing is reported to be $15 per cigar and $420 per box. Production is being limited to 400 boxes, according to the report, though the company indicated there would be more produced in the future.

The cigar is rather dark. Nearly as dark as the maduro. It's nice looking and has a nice feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was pretty good considering the small opening at the foot. The initial flavors were citrus, brown sugar, thick nutmeg, and leather. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2.

At the first third the cigar had much of the same notes; citrus, light brown sugar, light nutmeg, heavy leather. The finish was leather with good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium to full bodied. It's not too bad at this point. The notes are nice and the leather is not overbearing. I rated the first third 91.

Moving through the second third the cigar starts to get more leather. The notes were light citrus, light brown sugar, and heavy leather. It's still medium to full bodied. The finish is leather with good lingering black pepper. There is much more leather at this stage. I rated the second third 88.

The cigar ended staying on the same path. The leather increased. There was a touch of citrus but not much. The cigar is pretty much full bodied now. The finish is leather with good lingering black pepper. This is a cigar for people who like a very leathery cigar. It has some sweetness in the first third but it decreases as it goes along. The final third is quite leathery. I rated the final third 85.

To see how the maduro version compares look for that review on my blog and on Youtube.
