S&R is a limited release that was last seen in 2018.
“Very excited for the return of S&R. This year’s release features a beautiful dark Sumatran wrapper mixed with Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade. The S&R is a bold, medium strength, full flavor blend. The profile combines herbal citrus notes with cocoa and a complex mix of chili & white pepper spice,” says James Brown, creator of BLTC/BLK WKS and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.

The cigar has a barber pole wrapper and looks nice. It has an average feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good. The initial flavors at light up were a nice amount of brown sugar, light cedar, citrus peel, and earthy black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Nice start but there's a lot of citrus peel at this point.
At the first third (25 minutes) the ash is still intact and looks nice. There is still a nice amount of brown sugar but there is also a lot of citrus peel. They seem to be fighting for prominence. With the elevated citrus peel there is some bitterness. The earthy black coffee holds the base. The finish is somewhat light but it's citrus and brown sugar with good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied. I rated the first third 93.
Moving through the second third (48 minutes) the citrus peel toned down a little allowing actual citrus notes to come through combining with the brown sugar. There is still a lot of earthy black coffee. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is earthy black coffee and a little citrus peel with good lingering black pepper. The cigar improved with the decrease in citrus peel and addition of nice citrus notes. I rated the second third 94.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 9 minutes. The earthy black coffee has been slowly rising and now it's quite elevated. The citrus and brown sugar notes were hurt. The cigar is still medium to full bodied. The finish is earthy black coffee and very good lingering black pepper. The cigar lost a little with the elevated earthy black coffee. I rated the final third 92. This is a good cigar but not the best I've had from James Brown.
