The Cuesta-Rey Centenario combines history and exceptional taste to form an ultra-smooth, creamy, mild-to-medium bodied premium cigar. Meticulously hand rolled in the Dominican Republic by the prestigious Tabacalera A. Fuente, the Centenario is wrapped in a light Connecticut Shade Natural to provide a smooth and creamy taste. Filled with Cuban seed filler, each cigar is aged inside a specially designed cedar holding room for up to five years. After five levels of quality control and over a century of expert artistry, those that pass all criteria are adorned with the Cuesta-Rey Centenario band.

The cigar is light brown and has an average feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good with a touch of firmness. The initial flavors at light up were a lemon drop citrus, brown sugar, a little earthiness, and a little leathery black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Pretty good start.
At the first third (23 minutes) the ash was still intact although a little curved. I still had the lemon drop citrus, brown sugar, and earthy black coffee. I didn't have the leather. The finish, however, is a leathery black coffee with a hint of the lemon citrus with average to good lingering black pepper. The cigar is very tasty with the lemon drop and brown sugar sweetness. I rated the first third 93.
As I moved thorugh the second third (50 minutes) the cigar had a big change. There is now a lot of earthiness and more black coffee with leather. There are lighter notes of the lemon drop citrus and brown sugar. You get them initially but they are quickly swallowed up by the extreme earthiness. So they are short lived. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is leather with hints of the lemon sweetness and good lingering black pepper. The cigar's earthiness is severely hurting the cigar. I rated the second third 88.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 13 minutes. The cigar's sweetness made a nice bounce back. The earthiness pulled back, as well as the black coffee. The sweet notes are now more of a citrus, something like an orange citrus, and brown sugar and they are nicely elevated. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is a little citrus and some leather with very good lingering black pepper. I rated the final third 92.
