Video review HERE.
The newest cigar from Drew Estate. The cigar will become a full time production cigar. Nothing is known about the cigar. It will be revealed live on Freestyle Live broadcast March 14, 2024.
The cigar has what appears to be a Connecticut shade wrapper and has a nice feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was good with a touch of firmness. The initial flavors at light up were citrus peel, pear, brown sugar, quite a bit of earthiness, and black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7. The flavors need to develop and pop more.
At the first third (27 minutes) I had the same basic notes but the flavors are not popping. The earthiness is quite prominent and is rising. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is a little brown sugar with light pear with good lingering black pepper. The earthiness is concerning. I rated the first third 91.
As I moved through the second third (1 hour 12 minutes) there was a lot of citrus peel, very light brown sugar, a lot of earthiness, some bitterness, and black coffee. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is earthy citrus peel with good lingering black pepper. The notes are losing appeal. I rated the second third 86.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 38 minutes. In the final third the notes were citrus peel, quite a bit of earthiness, slight bitterness, and a lot of black coffee. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is earthy black coffee with good lingering black pepper. This cigar is a mystery to me in more ways than one. I rated the final third 80.
