Warped Bird on a Rose (5 1/2 x 46)

Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Drop Cigar Club website)

This cigar was originally a Drop Cigar Club exclusive. Now available where Warped Cigars are sold.

Bird on a Rose is the newest Connecticut Deflorada blend. This medium bodied blend encompasses a depth of cream, sweetness, with a touch of spice, and a great deal of texture on the palate. Enjoy the classic 'La Corona' vitola, a 5.5 x 46 to experience the perfect blend ratio's of wrapper, filler, and binder.

Origin: Santiago, Dominican Republic

Factory: Tabacalera La iSLA

Vitola: 'La Corona' - 5.5 x 46

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Deflorada

Filler: Nicaragua

Binder: Ecuadorian

The cigar is nicely made and has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was good with a touch of firmness. The initial flavors at light up were orange citrus, peach, brown sugar, and earthy leather. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. Pretty good start.

At the first third (22 minutes) the notes are about the same but now there is some black coffee to go along with the earthy leather. The cigar is medium bodied but seems to feel like it will move up. The finish is peach with very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is good. It's not wowing me but it's good. I rated the first third 93.

As I moved through the second third (46 minutes) not much has changed. The front end sweet notes are now more of an apple with some orange citrus influence with brown sugar. The cigar is medium to full bodied. The finish is apple with some leather and very good lingering black pepper. The minor changes here and there didn't make much difference in the score. I held the score of 93.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 18 minutes. For me, nothing changed through the final third. Same notes, medium to full bodied, unchanged finish. I held the score of 93. This is a good cigar. It's one I would call solid. Something you could have every day. Very nice offering from Warped. If you see them give them a try. Smallbatchcigar.com has them for $60 a 5 pack and use code tinytim for 10% off.

Overall Score: 93
