Introducing Alec Bradley Chunk Maduro! For years, Alec Bradley has released Chunk frontmarks for some of the brand’s most beloved cigars (Magic Toast, Double Broadleaf, Gatekeeper, among others). Now, this squat cigar shape is getting its own full-time release with Chunk Maduro.
Chunk Maduro is a full-flavored, powerful cigar packed into a short and chubby package. It boasts a rich Mexican Maduro wrapper, a Honduran Jamastran binder, and Dominican Piloto and Nicaraguan EstelĂ filler tobacco. Chunk Maduro offers a spicy and peppery yet pleasantly balanced flavor profile. It is manufactured at the HATSA factory in Danli, Honduras.
Alec Bradley Senior Brand Manager Ed Lahmann said, “The Chunk frontmark has become a signature Alec Bradley size, and now we’re pleased to unveil a full-time line dedicated to these hefty smokes. Beyond the eye-catching branding and approachable price point, Chunk Maduro delivers a big, satisfying smoking experience that we know our fans will love.”
Alec Bradley Chunk Maduro is available in three full-time sizes and two limited-edition frontmarks. Chunk Maduro boxes include 20 cigars per box — except the 4XL frontmark, which contains 18 cigars. It began shipping to retailers October 14.

The cigar is short and fat. It has an average feel in the hand.
The test draw after cutting the cap was a little firm but workable. The initial flavors at light up were citrus peel, brown sugar, unsweetened dark chocolate, and black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7. Not a great start for me but it's early.
At the first third (23 minutes) there was faint sweetness, lots of unsweetened dark chocolate and lots of black coffee. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is black coffee with good lingering black pepper. There are a lot of dark notes and very little sweetness. I rated the first third 85.
As I moved through the second third (44 minutes) there are no sweet notes. There are only unsweetened dark chocolate, black coffee, and earthy notes. The finish is unsweetened dark chocolate and black coffee with good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium bodied. There is not much appealing in the cigar at this point. I rated the second third 80.
The cigar lasted 1 hour 10 minutes. The cigar whittled down even further. Now there are primarily unsweetened dark chocolate notes with light black coffee and some earthiness. Not much there. The black pepper is about the only thing decent. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is unsweetened dark chocolate and black coffee with good lingering black pepper. This cigar is not built for me. I find very little appealing in the cigar. The Filthy Ghooligan, which I reviewed several weeks ago, was great but this one, not so much. I rated the final third 76.
