The cigar has an average feel in the hand for a corona gorda.

The test draw after cutting the cap was very good. The initial flavors at light up were cedar, a lot of brown sugar and cinnamon, caramel, light chocolate notes, nutmeg, and earthy black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 1/2. A nice sweet start.

At the first third (21 minutes) the cigar had an almost pure white ash. The flavors are very deep and rich. The flavors are just like I described. The nutmeg makes a nice bridge. The black coffee is in a nice amount; not too much. The finish is brown sugar and nutmeg with a nice amount of lingering black pepper. The cigar is a low grade medium to full bodied. There are a lot of darker flavors which I refer to as "brown flavors"; brown sugar and caramel. The cigar is very enjoyable at this point. I rated the first third at 93.

At the second third (51 minutes) the cigar is still very good but it lost a little appeal. The sweeter notes dipped just a bit. The massive sweetness and richness dropped a little. Not much but it was detectable. The finish is unchanged and the cigar is still medium to full bodied. I rated the second third at 92.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 9 minutes. The final third sums up like this; nothing changed regarding the flavors. The only thing that changed was the cigar reached full bodied. The finish was also unchanged. This was a good cigar with nice darker notes. Look for these at Drew Diplomat dealers. The final third was rated at 92.

Overall Score: 92.33
