Video review HERE.

(Description taken from Halfwheel.com website)

Stolen Throne Cigars has released its first limited edition creation. The cigar is the Phantom Queen, a 5 x 54 petit belicoso that is made up of an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper covering Nicaraguan tobacco used in both the binder and filler. Production is handled at the Rojas Cigar Factory located in EstelĂ, Nicaragua.

According to Lee Marsh, co-owner of Stolen Throne, the company had planned to release the limited edition in late 2020, but it was put on hold due to COVID-19-related supply chain issues. The name, Phantom Queen, refers to the Celtic deity of death and war who would often appear as a warrior queen and a raven in the same story.

Phantom Queen is limited to 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars, for a total production of 15,000 cigars. The MSRP is set at $12 per cigar, or $120 per box.

The cigar is golden brown in color and has an average feel in the hand.

The test draw after cutting the cap was very good. The initial flavors at light up were citrus, apple, a little citrus peel, a lot of brown sugar, and a little leathery black coffee. There was black pepper rated at 7 to 7 1/2. Nice start.

At the first third (29 minutes) I had much the same flavors. The brown sugar is coming out nicely. The citrus/apple notes seem to have pulled back just a little. And now there's a little toasted caramel in the mix. The black pepper may have ticked up a little. The finish is brown sugar, hints of apple, and a little earthiness with very good lingering black pepper. I rated the first third 95.

As I moved through the second third (51 minutes) the cigar got very earthy. There is sweetness of brown sugar but everything else is muffled. There is a little more black coffee also. The cigar is medium bodied. The finish is sort of a sugar wafer and very good lingering black pepper. The middle section tailed away a little. I rated the second third 92.

The cigar lasted 1 hour 4 minutes. The earthiness pulled back. The cigar didn't get back to the way it was in the first third but made a nice improvement. I had nice brown sugar, cookie wafer, and leathery black coffee. The finish is the place that has citrus, cookie wafer, and very good lingering black pepper. The cigar is medium to full bodied. I rated the final third 94. A nice addition to the Stolen Throne lineup.

Overall Score: 93.67
